Amanda Johnson :: Blog Design

Amanda is a busy mommy of 3 and is working on getting back into the groove of crafting after her new littlest. She contacted me about revamping her blog & I was glad to help. She wanted a fresh clean look & after searching through her pinterest pins, we discovered we could totally we hang out. You know the saying :: "According to your pins, we could totally we friends IRL." LOL! I love that we can connect with so many wonderful people through this industry!
So, my design process for Amanda's blog went something like this:

So much beautiful design in this photo; not to mention the adorable baby...

This is a project I now have on my to-do list with my boys this summer. How fun would this be on the front of their fort. Awesomesauce!

From there, I created this for my color palette (which when I sent it to Amanda she mentioned was very close to her scraproom colors - so cool!) :
The final design I put together for her blog header looks like this :
Be sure and head on over to Amanda's blog to check out the complete look!
Thank you Amanda for allowing me to be a part of your creative re-start!

Feb. Project Life Sneaks :: Crate Paper

I have to say Project Life has really brought back my love for scrapbooking our everyday moments. As you may or may not know, I am taking the monthly approach. I want it to be low stress. Some months I am only able to squeeze in a 2 page spread with a few inserts & some months; (like this month), I have been busy busy creating PL pages like crazy. I will have 8 pages to share when my week comes along on the CP blog! (My posts go live the 2nd week of each month.)

In the meantime, I have a few sneaks for you.

This pocket holds one of Coe's journal pages. He is struggling a bit right now with a few things & so we created a journal for him to write in. I snagged the first page out of it and am keeping it here. He is such a great kid, he just worries so so much....

This sneak is from my "currents" page. It's a fun NO PHOTO page. I love sneaking these in every once in awhile. It gives me a chance to really focus on the journaling.

I used one of the new Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Fabric frames and adhered it to the top of my protector. It worked great to bring the focus back to my niece on a photo that I enlarged and cut into 3 different inserts.

Here, I stamped! Which I am really hoping to do more often.

Below you will find sneaks of some washi tape and ILS Paper I ordered from Freckled Fawn. I'm in LOVE!

And of course lots of Elle's Studio Tags mixed in ...

Judith Creatief :: Blog Design

I've been busy busy creating a few new logos and blog headers for some great bloggers out there!
Judith contacted me and described her likes as follows:

I love butterflies and stars, flowers and hearts, aqua, lime and pink

Perfect! I'm thinking SPRING! So, I used these beautiful pieces for my inspiration ::

With that, I created this color palette:

I created these options for Judith to choose from ::

Planning a Surprise Baby Shower :: Shhhh...

I am in the works of planning a surprise baby shower for my sis. (No worries, she doesn't read my blog. I'm not even sure she knows I have a blog. LOL!)
My mission, is to create a fun, personal shower for her & her family along with my other 3 sisters & my Mom. She is the type of person who appreciates the little things rather than something off a gift registry.  My goal is to keep it under $100. including gifts, activities, decorations, & food. It's going to be a challenge, but I am up for it!

I have started out by making a few things to include in her gift basket. Because I was able to use items I already had in my scrapbooking stash & I had an instore credit to my LSS to use towards adhesive I am still at $0.00 out of pocket.

I used some goodies from American Crafts, Crate Paper, & Bella Blvd to create this small notebook full of Bible verses...

I also put together 20 Thank you cards with envelopes. When I was pregnant with Ella I made my thank yous beforehand and I was SO glad I did. That way I could stay ontop of sending them out.

I have lots of other ideas I have been "pinning" and writing in my journal. I'll keep you all updated & will be sure to include pictures of the shower in mid March.

Have a great weekend!

Lime Doodle : Blog Design

Debby contacted me about creating a new header for her blog & once I saw her style, I knew it was going to be a fun one to create. Coolest blog name ever!

Her blog header originally looked like this:
I really loved it already, how was I going to create something that said "this is Debby".

So, I turned to her Pinterest page. Cause nothing tells someone's loves, dreams, and creative inspirations like their personal Pins right?

I was thinking "limes" - She loves the color green btw. A girl after my own heart!
So, the color scheme needed to be greens (she already had something similiar & it was totally working).

The colors I chose came from this ::

The idea of using a lime or a slice of lime turned into a pie chart. Totally trendy!

From there I incorporated her blog name & I always think it's important to tell your readers who you are as well!

I created two options for her. The first one I created a watercolor feel {which btw was my first time creating in PS, and I'm totally addicted now.}

And the second was similar but more of a clean/graphic feel :

Head on over to Lime Doodle & leave Debby some love!

If Heaven wasn't so far away :: Crate Paper

Last summer we had this beautiful owl perched on our fence in our backyard. My Grandmother always loved owls. She collected them and they just remind me of her. I took this visit from this owl as a sign from her; as a hello. Using the new Maggie Holmes collection, I recorded my feelings of missing our lost loved ones. The envelope from the mini album supplement pack & the adorable flower clip was perfect for keeping my journaling tucked away.

Creative Weekly :: Crate Paper

All week long be inspired by RED over on the Crate Paper Blog!

Here's my combination of reds, along with pinks, & yellows.

If you are local or have an upcoming wedding, consider Seeded Earth for beautiful flowers! Sarah does an amazing job!

I started out with the idea of a very simple layout focused on my flower photo, but it quickly turned into a multi-layered design using lots of red, pinks, turquoises and yellows. I love how a layout can change as the creative process happens. I did a bit of cutting and tearing of Maggie Holmes' journaling paper to create my title work. This is a great example of using your paper scraps to the fullest!
