{hijacked by the thicker craze...

journaling:
There was news on the web that Big Lots had Thickers for $2! So, Christina & I couldn't resist & took a trip to Galesburg. When we got there & there were none to be found, we asked a clerk if she "maybe had some in the back yet?". Long story short...we sat on the floor at BL and helped the poor clerk tag them & we went home 20+ packages happier!

{It didn't stop there because Christina "hijacked" her mom when she got home and went to the BL in Davenport to stock up on more! Hear her funny side of the day HERE.

Thanks CK for a fun day!

This layout is also for Sherry's blog challenge #7-Die cut page:I think most of us have a die cutting machine of some sort. If not use purchased die cuts.

{teachers pet and a give away...

It's been awhile since I showed you THIS peek, but I finally have most of the projects done, so I can share.
Loved playing with all the new yummy goodies from the Teachers Pet line by Imaginisce...

It was perfect for making those end of the year gifts for the teachers! I have one little guy in Kindergarten and one in preschool, so there were 12 teachers to make for. For the first project I used my Xyron 510 machine with the two-sided laminate cartridge {remember THIS post using the 510 and the perm. adhesive cartridge}...

I also used strips of the patterned paper to decorate the top of notepads from the office supply store...

And got a layout done about Coe's first day of school this year. I can't believe his first year of school is almost over!

And now for the give-away!
I am so greatful to Xyron & Imaginisce for this great line and want to pass on some of the goodies to one of you guys!

Up for grabs:

1 12x12 sheet of each of the following papers from the Teacher's Pet line:
Wipe that up!
Welcome to Room 10!

My new pencil box

{the long lost rainbow brite doll...

Sherry's blog challenge #10-Your fav. childhood memory:It could be your fav. toy as a child or a special occasion that happened when you were a child.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Journaling reads:
She was always one of my favorite dolls growing up & she was the "it" toy of her time. I believe my original is still @ mom & dad's amongst all of our other childhood playmates.
It was to our surprise when cleaning out grandma & grandpa castor's attic space that mom & I found an original rainbow bright still in the box. I...{in a childlike manner}...I exclaimed, "oh, my gosh! It's my rainbow brite doll!" and mom replied, "That's where that thing went! That was the year I had bought it for you for
Christmas and hid it so well, I had to buy you another one before Christmas day!"
After 21 years...my "long lost doll" was finally found!

{always friends, no matter what...

For Sherry's blog challenge #6-Calander page(day, month, year):Let us know your schedule. Let us in on your crazy life.
This started out as going to be a layout about time and me doing my best to manage my family, friends, work, photography, plus other various "hobbies" I enjoy. It turned into this page when I flipped over one of new Studio Calico papers...loved the "next week, next month, next year, forever". So, it started as something totally different, but I am so glad I took the time to do a page about one of my bestest girlies! So Sherry, not sure if it counts, but thanks for this challenge cause I may have never gotten this page done otherwise!

{you drive me crazy and make me smile...

Sherry's blog challenge #9:Your ocd:What is it that drives you crazy. Your pet peeve.

How did I ever scrapbook before my Studio Calico kit arrived? I'm really not sure. It's my new "go to" goodies!

Anywho, I think I should explain this crazy layout a bit:
My wonderful hubby thinks he is so funny and loves to be a "smarty"... to put it nicely. He loves to do things just to test my nerves I sware! So, over the past 11 years of his little pranks and jokes, I have learned that it is better to just fight back rather than get mad. :0)

Journaling reads:
One of my biggest pet peeves is how Aaron leaves salt all over the counter and table any time he eats anything! I had been giving him a hard time about it, so one night as we we're heading out the door; I noticed a neat little pile of salt on the counter...which had obviously been "planted" there. So, as a little revenge I decided it was time to teach him a lesson and cover his side of the bed with the rest of the salt!

Yep, don't mess with the queen honey! :0)

{happy mother's day...

This year Ginger and I decided that for mother's day we wanted a morning of turkey hunting by ourselves. We had so much fun and had my bird on the ground by 6:10am. Not just anyone would wake up at 3:30 in the morning to take a friend hunting and help her get her first bird. Thanks Ginger!

Also went out yesterday with Aaron & Paul and got to see a great show with 4 toms, a jake, and a hen. Even though we didn't get a bird killed, it was an awesome experience! Thanks Paul!

I also used some sassafras, moxxie, Xyron Design Runner and a few other goodies from my stash.

These are also for Sherry's blog challenge:
