Blog Designing: Part 3 & 4....
I have been playing a with a few other blogs and am having a ball doing it.
The first one was for a fellow member of the The Scrapbooking Studio Design team {Bloomington}.
Her name is Malika Kelly & she has a great scrapbooking style.
I created her banner based on her fun style:
The next one was for a friend who has started an amazing cooking blog, called Cowboy Boots & an Apron. We're still tweaking that one a bit. Her recipes make me wish I actually knew how to cook! Definitely going to be showing it to my hubby so he can try something new. Hee!

JBS Summer Games: Shooting Skeet
Although the shooting sports aren't covered too widely during the olympics, I'm always in awe of the skeet shooters. We have spent many afternoons outside shooting clay pigeons with our boys & on this day; our nieces. The truth be told, I can't hit a bird {alive or clay} whether it's flying or standing on the ground. But my boys definitely got their shooting abilities from their dad.
In this layout, I used the Die-Cut and Perforated Papers - Bank Statement paper as my base. I love how it has sections sort of like the clay pigeon box. I used the idea of the clays flying away through the air as inspiration for the JBS Seal cuts that I made in various sizes with my Silhouette.
Show us how you're inspired by the sport of shooting? We'd love to see the results! Post your entries on the JBS Summer Games thread to be eligible for medal contention! Each entry must be created from a JBS Mercantile Kit(s) or include at least three different JBS products. Entries close at midnight CST on September 2nd. Winners will be randomly drawn and announced on September 3rd.

You Are A Silly Boy...Crate Paper
I love to mix pattern papers, so this challenge was right up my alley. I began by pulling from two collections: Acorn Avenue & Little Boy Blue. I wanted a combination of bright, yet boyish, and these two collections were just that. Many of my base pieces were cut into 3 x 4 pieces which kept the design consistent. I then layered various sized tags and journal cards from the Tag & Accent Cut sheets. Mixing a variety of patterned papers is the perfect way to use up those scraps, too!

Turkey Hunt...Bella Blvd Thankful...
When I saw the adorable turkeys in the Thankful collection I knew exactly which photos & memory I would record. This Spring was the first year my hubby & I had the chance to turkey hunt all together with our boys. We saw so much wildlife on that beautiful morning. What a great memory!

Online Friends meet in Chicago...Bella Blvd
When I first saw the Inspiration piece I immediately thought of travel. I started by using my Silhouette Cameo to cut the map of the United States image from Kraft card stock. I then backed it with the Hearts side of the Birthday Boy: Borders paper. Using pop dots, I cut another map just a little bit smaller so I could still see the pattern paper underneath. This created the perfect space for my title work. Then, sticking to the inspiration piece I created a variety of tag & banner pieces to sprinkle around my design.
Head on over to the Bella Blvd blog to check out what the rest of the design team did with the Inspiration Feature!

Supplies:
Birthday Boy: Toadilly Cool, About A Boy, Eat Cake, Borders, Just Write Journaling Stickers, Alpha + Bits Stickers, Chipboard Icons
Button Market: Orange Stars

I used the Birthday Boy Collection on my page to show that it can be used for occasions beyond the typical Birthday theme. I trimmed the star from the birthday candle on the Chipboards Icons sheet & combined it with a few punched stars as well as the large orange star from the Ciao Chip Elements Stars & Hearts sheet.

{Our Home...Bella Blvd Thankful Reveal
When I first saw the new Thankful line I knew exactly which photo I was going to use for it. I once again printed the photo as a 12x8 and the sun flare in the upper left corner served as the perfect place for my title. I cut the clouds in half from both the Cute Cuts sheet as well as the Chipboard Icons to extend them a bit further.
Supplies:
Thankful: Borders, Cute Cuts, Turkey Tracks, Homey, Alpha + Bits Stickers, Just Write Journaling Stickers, Chipboard Icons
Sophisticates: Chipboard Alphas - Sienna Blueberry, High Five - Blue
