{isat testing & cool cat...
Today starts a big week for Coe & the rest of his 3rd grade class. It is ISAT week. They have been talking and preparing for awhile now for these tests. I remember dreading them when I was little. A whole day/week of nothing but testing....ugh! But, I have to say his teachers and principle have done an awesome job of pumping these kids up. They have been doing a fun cheer & even got to march around and "sing" it for the younger classes.
Coe is also this weeks "Cool Cat" in his class room. Which means he is the line leader and gets to pass out all the papers, etc. for the whole week. And he is even more excited that it is ISAT week because that means ALOT of papers to pass out and pick up! LOL!
I get to go to his class room this week as well and tell them a little bit about Coe. He gets to send pictures to display & is to bring 3 things that he feels best shows who he is. He has chose to bring his Indian hatchet he found a couple of years ago on our farm, his buck skull mount from this year, & his trophy that he won doing an archery competition. I'm hoping to take some pictures while we're there.
We decided he needed something to share with the class to get the week started. We picked up some pencils at Walmart {$.50 for 10 of them}
I wanted something simple to put on them; maybe a "good luck" tag. So, I googled "ISAT" in the hopes of finding something with all the oval circles, but came across this awesomeness...
{source}
Printed them on plain card stock, and tied them to two pencils with some twine I had in my stash.
Something fun for the kids for under $3...now that's Rockin. :0)

{all thanks to a mild winter...
We are so excited over at Bella Blvd to have the very talented Shannon Tidwell as our guest designer this month!
She has given us all some fun challenges to play along with. Today's challenge was to use the fun Cute Cuts from any collection we choose.
I chose the Winter Wonder line because I love the snowflakes.
I am super bad about taking photos of my kids during the winter, and well this year we just haven't had much snow to play in. So, I decided that would be my focus for this page; a mild winter. I focused on how in January {in the midwest!} I was able to run outside to help reach a few goals. I used the "photo tabs" from two of the alpha+bits pages to create a simple pattern down the side of my design. I also decided to do most of my journaling on my computer as I knew it would be long. I still wanted to add some of my own handwriting, so I left a few pages to fill in a bit of information.
Supplies:
Winter Wonder: Ski Slopes, Cute Cuts, Alpha+Bits, Just Write Stickers, Miniature Stickers

{a&k...sassafras for studio calico...
While chatting with the very talented Mandy Koeppen I was telling her about how much I missed Sassafras. I know; should someone really love a company that much? LOL
So Mandy being the sweet person she is mailed me some of the papers they recently did for a Studio Calico kit! OMG! Talk about making my day! I couldn't help but play right away. It was so therapeutic to create a layout "just because".
Thank you Mandy!!!
The "my photos" flair button is from Shelley Haganman's etsy store. Check it out! You will love the selection!
Oh and the girls are my friends little ones. Beauties aren't they?

{happy valentines day...
We don't make a huge deal out of this day at our house, but I do try to get a little something for the littles.
Thanks to Elle's Studio, I had a FREE printable tag to print for them...
Ella's bag held a little tiny baby doll which she loved and was NOT happy about leaving in the truck when we got to daycare...
And chocolate and candy for the boys...
I love when we can make all three kids happy for under $10. :0)
I love my iPod, but man do I wish it took better pics. There was no sun shining into my kitchen this morning, so the pics are super blurry. Sorry!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!

{hey, valentine...you rock...
I loved this idea I came across {on pinterest of course}...
Coe & I created our own simple version tonight.
I bought the pop rocks at the dollar store {although there may be a better deal out there}. These were 3 for $1. I created this in photoshop:
We ran them through the Xyron Creatopia so they could be easy to apply to the back of the pop rocks package.
Simple & fun...

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

{guest designing with scrapkit studio...
Introducing, Scrapkit Studio!
Each month, Melinda, the owner of Scrapkit Studio, comes up with a seasonally themed mini album kit that is uniquely put together so that ANYONE can create the mini album of their dreams. There are many scrappers out there that love mini albums, but may be intimidated at trying their hand at creating them. This club solved those problems so that the novice min album artist all the way up to the expert mini album extrordinairre can create a fabulous, one-of-a-kind mini album creation!
Here's how they describe their club:
ScrapKit Studio features:
•New kits released monthly, including chipboard mini albums & 3-D projects
•Complete kits: everything you need to create the entire chipboard mini album or 3-dimensional project, except your photos!
•Custom die-cut papers and chipboard
•All supplies are pre-cut and packaged with full color instructions
Each month ScrapKit Studio will offer a new kit release using the latest scrapbooking papers and embellishments along with unique chipboard pages. The kits will be themed to either coincide with a holiday or generic theme, such as birthdays or other events for your scrapbooking needs.
All our kits come with everything you need to create the entire chipboard mini album or 3-dimensional project, except your photos! Our die-cut pages and papers eliminate all the hard work normally associated with making an album: there's no need for cutting and sanding the papers to fit the pages! Andall supplies are pre-cut and packaged with full color instructions. Simply supply your creative mojo and before you know it, you'll be showing off your beautiful chipboard mini album and photographs! Not only will you have a chipboard album or 3-D project you'll just love, you'll have the personal statisfaction from having made it yourself!
.........
I got to play with the January Chipboard Album kit! Melinda includes WONDERFUL instructions with tons of photos! It must take her forever to write it all up! I read through each step and love what she did with the kit. But, since I've never been one to follow the rules {just ask my mom}, I did my own little take on it and turned mine into a place for all of my instagram photos. That is what so wonderful about her kits!
I started by printing of my instagrams {I print mine at home.}
I created the cover first {because that just make sense right?}
{I also added from my stash - washi tape ...amazing stuff... & flair buttons by shelley.}
{cover}
On the inside page, I added the envelope where I want to insert a little note to my kiddos...
The opposite page tells what exactly "instagram" is {cause someday we'll look back & laugh about this craze}
Each months section will start out with the cute month cards...
I really want this book to be journal heavy {something I need to focus on a bit more}...
Love the folder pages. Depending on the month, I may sew the sides together to create a place to hold extra "bits" from that month!
And the start to my February section...bring on a new month of instragram love!
{I have all my remaining kit goodies tucked in a special spot ready to be added to my book throughout the year! - A mini album I may actually keep up with!}
Thank you ScrapKit Studio!!!
