30 Days of Gratitude :: Embellishing

I am loving this process & the fact that I can focus mainly on my journaling.

Here are the completed pages that I shared last week
On the left side I used a camera cut from my Silhouette as a mask with the Studio Calico's Clay Mr Huey as my base. I layered bits from Crate Paper's Acorn Ave, Flair from A Flair for Buttons, & washi tape from Freckled Fawn. {Thank you for the share Jen Chapin!}
The right side was of course Election Day. The "Vote" cut was a fun share from Kinsey Wilson.

Grocery shopping is not something I enjoy, but I am thankful to be able to afford what we need. This page uses a Silhouette cut I created based on this printable I found on Pinterest
The right side might possibly my most charished page ever. Aaron knows I love scrapbooking, yet he doesn't understand why. LOL! For this page I asked him if he would journaling about why he was thankful for me & I did the same. We sat in our living room after the kids went to bed & each wrote down our thoughts. We laughed as he asked me how to spell every other word & how he didn't think it was fair that my handwriting is much bigger so I didn't have to write as much. Ha! I am Thankful for him & Thankful for that moment. **The journaling cards are from Elle's Studio.

The Crop Friends side uses again a mixture of Crate Paper & Elle's Studio. Plus some of my new favorite Thickers & flair from A Flair for Buttons. The right side shows my thankfulness of my son's love for helping in the kitchen. I just love the fact that he has found something that is "him". Lots of Instagram photos this week. I need to get better about getting my "big" camera out again.

Love the Flair? Me too! Go get it HERE!

::GIVEAWAY:: 30 days of gratitude :: starting at the base

I am taking baby steps towards the wonderful world of Project Life. The idea is one that I have been wanting to try for some time now, but I just never did because of the fear of not keeping up. I soon came to the realization that not keeping up isn't nearly as bad as not ever starting! All of those everyday memories need to find a place & this project will perfect.

I am beginning with the 30 days of Gratitude project & will then be moving onto December Daily. Again, baby steps to Project Life.

The album & pages I will be using for both the 30 days as well as the DD project is the Simple Stories 6x8 Snap Binder. I compiled some of my favorites: Crate Paper, Bella Blvd, Elle's Studio, Studio Calico, October Afternoon, American Crafts, & Jenni Bowlin....

My process is a bit backwards to what I normally do, but it is a fun challenge. When I design a page I usually find the photo first and then build around it. For this project I designed the pages first with a base of the above products. I do love the fact that I can just slip in my photos and add my journaling. It will definitely help me stay on track. I will be adding bits & pieces as I go as & will probably go back and do some last minute sewing as well. That is what is so much fun. There are no right or wrongs. Just stay focused on recording your memories.

The below images show what I have created as a very basic base. I have also added in little notes of events that I would like to focus on that day. Stay tuned in the upcoming weeks as I fill my pages!

The American Crafts Roller Stamps are some of my favorites & are just perfect for a project like this.
Leave me a comment below & let me know if you are doing 30 Days of Gratitude, December Daily, or Project Life.
Share a link to your work too if you'd like! I'd love to see!

Winner will be drawn Friday November 9th.
