{summer memories...
Hey creative people! Check out this adorable bit of inspiration I got to work with for GCD Studios this month...
So cute right?
The colors made me think of a few photos I took of Ella last month. Everyone goes for a walk in the woods in a dress right?
So when choosing my colors, I started with the two Animal Crackers line. Then, with a few touches of Melody Ross's Soul Food collection, it was the perfect combo!
I cut strips of the "Cube Leaf" papers from both collections and alternated them horizontally on my layout to stay with the look of Ella's dress.
By placing a few random flower brads on the background of my photo, it added a fun touch to the design...
And finally, here is how the layout came together...
I hope you're enjoying the rest of your Summer!

{you always sparkle...
I couldn't pass up the Boardwalk kit from Studio Calico this month. I just loved the soft color combination. And, it's still available!
And yes, I've already scrapbooked this photo, but I had an extra 8x10 of it and couldn't resist using it again. :0)

{scrapbook workshop...now available!!!
I am SO excited to get my hands on this book! I can't say enough how honored I am to have been a part of it.
There are hundreds of scrapbook designers out there doing fabulous work and showing it online, either in scrapbook community sites like Scrapbook.com or on their own blogs. But much more rare is the blogger who has fabulous ideas AND can teach readers how to get a similar look with innovative techniques. In Scrapbook Workshop, we have brought together popular and up-and-coming scrapbook bloggers who share their techniques along with great layouts, cards and more.
For the crafter who isn?t interested in blogs, the book will serve as an idea book filled with projects and techniques to use again and again. For the scrapbooker, this book will share not only ideas, but also introduce them to people to watch and follow for continued inspiration. The experienced scrapbooker and the blog savvy scrapbookers will find fresh ideas from favorite bloggers, as well as new blogs to try and people to watch.
There's a sneak HERE! SO yummy!

{adventure at wild cat den...
We all seem to gravitate towards a color grouping. So where do you fit in?
For me, it's the earth tones. I tend to stay within those tones for most of my personal clothing. They calm me.
This was my choice of inspiration for this months assignment. The perfect combination of "me" calming colors.
I turned to my favorite GCD line once again, the {Great Outdoors}. It's just what I thought of when I chose my inspiration piece.
The boots in the photo reminded me of a piece of suede leather I had in my craft stash. I then created the title with the fun Chip Art tool and the Sparrow lower case alphabet set.
Take inspiration from your everyday color choices and see what you create!
