Countdown to Christmas :: Day Seventeen

Elfie was found making a snow angel on the kitchen table this morning. He's a messy thing I tell ya!
After ham, green beans, and summer squash for supper (which I'm excited to report that the squash is still from my garden. I've been storing a few of them in my dark pantry and they are keeping really good! - It's the small things. LOL!)
Anywho, after supper we played Christmas Bingo, charades and finished off the night with pumpkin pie! Yum!

Countdown to Christmas :: Day Sixteen

Yesterday morning Ella was the first to spot "elfie" decked out like our favorite reality tv show : the Duck Dynasty boys! Hee! The activity was to create yard & cardboard ornaments. Coe did a great job doing these with Ella. And, after much debate we decided it was time for a new "family" vehicle. Merry Christmas to me. ;)

Countdown to Christmas :: Day Fifteen

Elfie was caught in the cookie plate this morning!
Tonight's activities were both paint related (we did an extra since we didn't have one on Friday). The first was to make snowmen out of an egg carton and the second was to paint clear cds and decorate them like wreaths. We're ending the night with watching Little House on the Prairie and then Alaska the Last Frontier. I love Sunday tv!

Countdown to Christmas :: Day thirteen & fourteen

Friday morning "elfie" was taking it easy with a few bandages and ibuprofen after his fall from the zip line on Thursday. Friday night's activity with the kids was replaced with a night out for mommy with some friends from high school. We made a few stops and did some caroling for some special people.

Saturday morning the kids found "elfie" had drawn a self portrait in the kitchen. It was also the day of our annual "sisters" brunch. The kids get to come once they are in high school (or if they are under one). We eat, open presents, watch old home videos, and eat again. It's such a fun and relaxing day!
Our activity for last night was to make candy cane reindeer. We had a few extra "kids" to help us this time. You're never to old to do kid crafts!

Countdown to Christmas :: Day Eleven

Elfie had fun zip-lining from the Christmas tree last night. Although we had a bit of a mishap this evening when Ella decided to throw her pillow in the living room and sent Elfie crashing to the ground. I sure hope he's still got his magic! ;)
After school we went for a ride to see the sunset and check for deer tracks. The kids helped me make a few sugar cookies and after supper our activity was to make icecream snowmen. Aaron even got in on this one!
