{okay, so my sneaks don't exactly look very "wintery", but I needed an escape to "summer" and you can still do it with this kit!}

{who did a 2 pager?...yep, that's me...

I have to admit. My biggest hang-up on doing 2 page layouts is the photographing part of it. I have the hardest time getting a "good" pic once it's done. Anyone else have that problem?

{place cards...take 2...

Success! Place cards are complete & the paint stayed in the bottle!
{snort}

I did change this up a bit from my original plan, but here's a quick tutorial on how I made my simple place cards...

Supplies used: Snowflake punch {EK Success}, Jenni Bowlin malted milk paint dabber {Ranger Ink} & everything else from the Dec Studio Calico kit.

Cut kraft to 5x5 and score at 2.5 to create the base of the place card.
Cut the {blue} cardstock & the pattern paper to 2.25 x 4.75

Photobucket

Punch the {blue} cardstock on the top & bottom...

Photobucket

Adhere the {blue} cardstock onto the pattern paper lining up all of the edges...

Photobucket

Layer onto the kraft cardstock that you scored. Add some paint speckles by gently {TAPPING} the edges with the JB dabber. I used the malted milk, but they have 12 awesome shades to choose from...

Photobucket

Using a second pattern paper, punch a full snowflake....

Photobucket

Add the snowflake to your card with a foam square. I also added a piece of the mixtape by American Crafts from the SC kit...

Photobucket

Add the names and a little bling and complete! Something simple & homemade for your holiday table...

{when it says "tap"...don't squeeze!

Okay, okay. I wasn't sure I was going to share this, but then I saw kinseywilson was brave enough to post about her little accident HERE on the SC forums. I figured... well, these little things probably happen to everyone right...right?

So, yesterday I picked up some new goodies here....and had my TSM & SC kits ready to play...
I was hopin to make some place cards for a holiday brunch I am hosting next week and maybe add a tutorial to my blog while doing so.

K...see that awesome little bottle of Jenni Bowlin Malted Milk Paint Dobber...here's how the directions read:
Shake well before use. Invert dabber, tap repeatedly onto scrap paper to begin flow. Dab onto surface.
So me being me...it wasn't coming fast enough, so I SQUEEZED...maybe too hard.
It resulted in this...

and this...

Photobucket

and yes, this...

Photobucket

Wonderful! And yes, I was looking right at it when the lid flew completely off!
From there, I cleaned it off of my walls, the new carpet, my clothes, hair, and face. And only after my hubby realized that it was going to come out of the carpet okay, was he laughing at me.

K~ Your turn! What scrappy accident has happened to you lately?

{home sweet holidays ornament...

Okay, so it's sort of a large ornament, but I've been wanting to play with one of these hoops that I found awhile back at a rummage sale.
Made this for the tree at my LSS {Scrapaganza}...

{Cosmo Cricket, Making Memories, and Basic Grey.}

Hey local gals! Get your ornament over to Scrapaganza & cover that naked tree!
There's a gift certificate to be won too!
