{you've been buzzed...

for pink sketches #37...

Title: You've been buzzed
Journaling: June 2009 After one of our neighbors "buzzed" our house with his plane & scared you. You decided when you get older you are going to buy a plane & scare the "cwap outta that guy". ~watch out Reid!
Description: This was a funny story that I wanted to remember for a long time. I didn't have any actual pictures of that day {no time to grab my camera}, so I used a picture I had taken of Chase around the same time and the Cosmo Cricket line worked just perfect!
Supplies: Comso Cricket...patterned paper, ribbon, journaling square, and chipboard stickers, American Crafts thickers, Sharpie marker, & Xyron adhesive.

{play like a boy...

I've been wanting to try misting for awhile now, so when Scrapbooks etc. had a tutorial about using Stampin' Up! ink refills to make your own with water and a spray bottle, I thought yes; I have a ton of those! I used letter masks by Tim Holtz and my homemade "night of navy" mist. It was fun and I did use a hair dryer to dry because I'm not a waiting kind of girl. It did result in the paper curling on the corners a bit, so I attached the whole layout to another 12x12 piece of cardstock to sturdy it up.
I have lots of practice and playing to do before I am a master mister!
Check out this great misting tutorial by the amazing Maggie Holmes. She'll have you hooked!

{The punched circle with the letters that I used on this page and the last is punched from the back of the basic grey chipboard letters package.}

{swell news...

I'm supposed to be cleaning for a get-together we are having at our house tomorrow night, but who wants to clean when I have all these fun tags from shabby chic crafts!
I've been needing to make a prego card for my sis and this little tag was perfect!

{...we remember moments...

I am having so much fun playing with some of the tags by shabby chic crafts...go check out their store and super fun blog!

{For the yellow circle tag at the bottom, I used one tag and cut it into three pieces to create the scallop.}

I also found some fun new American Crafts papers to play with...so with that said i got inspired to create this layout...still not sure if I'm sold on the pink for a boy page, but i just never get to use pink all that often and besides my 6 year old says "it's fine mom." {awwww...approval from the big brother}

Here is mine:

One of my favorite summer memories is taking my boys camping in Indiana @ Turkey Run State Park. It was such a fun week because it was a group of just moms & our kids. Even though it rained most of the time & we had racoons that invaded our camp, thunderstorms that knocked a tree limb onto our tent, & we got lost on our hike, it was a memorable trip. Hopefully one that my boys will remember for a long time. I realize that time with my boys as a "cool mom" is limited, so I'll take as many of these moments as I can get!
